Utilization of these extensive capabilities at the Honeywell UOP Research Center is because Steve understands the techniques since he routinely uses them for catalyst characterization and catalyst problem solving.  Thus, he integrates materials analysis capabilities for catalyst characterization techniques for conducting materials failure analysis.

Steve has also been very active at Honeywell UOP in catalyst development and characterization.  He has applied many advanced material science characterization tools and techniques to develop a better understanding of catalysts and the development of next-generation catalysts.  Most recently he acquired for Honeywell UOP an aberration-corrected electron microscope, which has been instrumental in the development and improvement of many Honeywell UOP catalysts.  Steve was awarded the Honeywell PMT Technologist Achievement Award.
